Install ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server using the installation wizard
You can install ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server using the installation wizard or the command prompt. For instructions on using the command prompt, see Install ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server silently.
Each machine with an installation of ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server requires an authorization file. The recommended method of registration is to use the software authorization wizard, which appears after the setup installation, or you can visit My Esri to obtain an authorization file before installing the software.
Prepare to install ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server
Before you install ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server, do the following:
Verify that your machine meets the system requirements for ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server.
Obtain your software installers and authorization file.
Create a Windows account for the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server account.
This will be the Run As account for ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server. It is recommended that you use a domain account, which you may need to request from your IT department. If you use a local Windows account, the installation wizard can create the account for you. The
configureserviceaccount.batcommand line tool can be used to configure the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server service to run under a gMSA.
After completing the steps above, follow the steps below to run the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server installation wizard.
Install ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server
To install ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server using the installation wizard, complete the following steps:
Run the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server installation wizard you downloaded from the ArcGIS Enterprise 12.0 Beta Features Early Adopter Community.
During installation, you will be asked the following:
Provide a location for the installation directory. The installation directory contains the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server files. Specify a location on the computer where you want to store these files.
The default installation location on Windows is
C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\DataPipelines.Note:
ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server does not support shared network directories that are hidden or that use special characters (such as
$).Provide the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server Run As account information.
Optionally, use a server configuration file to import your Windows account credentials if one is available. Server configuration files can be exported during ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server installation and used in future installations. If you have a configuration file available, you can import it when prompted.
Optionally, export the account credentials used in the current ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server installation to use in a future installation. The server configuration file that is created is an encrypted XML file.
During installation, provide a location for the installation directory. The installation directory contains the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server files. Specify a location on the computer where you want to store these files.
The default installation location on Linux is
${HOME}/arcgis/DataPipelines.Note:
This directory must be local to the machine. You cannot install ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server on a shared network directory (NFS mounted folder). Folders with special characters in their names (such as
$) are not supported.
Once the installation is complete, use the software authorization wizard to authorize your instance of ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server.
