Configure language settings

Set language preferences

You can set language preferences for the Drone2Map application and help system.

To open the Language settings, follow these steps:

  1. From an open project, click the Project tab on the ribbon. Alternatively, from the Drone2Map start page, click About Drone2Map in the lower right corner.

  2. In the list on the left, click Settings.

  3. On the Settings dialog box, under Application, click Language.

Display language (requires language pack installation)

You can run a translated version of Drone2Map if you install a language pack. You can get a language pack from your distributor or My Esri. When a language pack is installed, you can set Drone2Map to display the user interface in the corresponding language.

By default, the Drone2Map user interface matches the Microsoft Windows display language. For example, if your Windows display language is German, and you have also installed a German language pack for Drone2Map, the application displays the user interface in German.

To run Drone2Map in a display language other than the Windows display language, follow these steps:

  1. Under Display language (requires language pack installation), uncheck the Match Microsoft Windows check box.

  2. Use the drop-down menu to choose a language from the list of installed languages.

  3. Restart Drone2Map.

    This option only changes the display language of the Drone2Map user interface. It does not affect functionality related to number and date formatting or character encoding, which are controlled by your Windows region settings. In addition, this setting is for Drone2Map only and does not affect the display of other Esri applications on the same machine.

    To return Drone2Map to the Windows display language, check Match Microsoft Windows.

Proofing language (requires operating system language pack installation)

As with the display language, the proofing language matches Windows by default. To change it, under Proofing language (requires operating system language pack installation), uncheck the Match Microsoft Windows check box and choose from the available languages. It is not necessary to restart Drone2Map.

Note:

The Proofing language setting is not available on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems. On these operating systems, spell-check is only available for English, Spanish, French, and German. The proofing language is controlled by the Display language setting for Drone2Map.

Help system language

The Drone2Map help language for the offline and online help matches the display language by default but can be changed. Language packs are not needed to change this setting. To select a different language, under Help system language, uncheck the Match display language check box and choose from the available languages. You must restart Drone2Map to open the help in the selected language.

For the offline help, you can install the ArcGIS Documentation Center and download a non-English documentation set for Drone2Map (and optionally for other products). You can download the ArcGIS Documentation Center from My Esri.

If you select a language for which you have not downloaded the corresponding documentation set, the offline help system is not available. In this situation, you must download the appropriate documentation set, change the language to one for which you have downloaded the documentation, or switch to the online help system.

Tip:

When you're using the online help system, you can also change the language with the Switch Language button at the top or bottom of your browser.
