Configure 360-degree photos
Available with the ArcGIS Indoors Maps extension.
ArcGIS Indoors supports the display of 360-degree photos. You can use 360-degree photos to preview an office hotel or meeting room before booking it. Facility technicians can use this feature to assess work conditions, locate relevant components for maintenance, or navigate through a building virtually to prepare for facility work orders. Facilities, operations staff, and other designated members can also capture 360-degree photos by connecting a 360-degree camera to ArcGIS Indoors Mobile.
You must add 360-degree photos to a shared oriented imagery feature layer and include it in the shared mobile map package to display 360-degree photos in the Indoors Mobile app.
Complete the prerequisites for 360-degree photos
360-degree photos must be added to an oriented imagery dataset and shared as a hosted feature layer to be used with Indoors Mobile. To import 360-degree photos to an oriented imagery dataset, use the Import Indoor Images tool for photos in an .e57 file. Use the 360 Video To Oriented Imagery tool if you captured 360-degree video. Or you can capture 360-degree photos when you connect a 360-degree camera to Indoors Mobile.
Note:
Indoors Mobile supports 360-degree equirectangular imagery in JPEG format.
To import images from an .e57 file for use in ArcGIS Indoors, complete the following prerequisites:
Prepare E57 data before importing images.
Import indoor images to an oriented imagery dataset in ArcGIS Pro.
Share an oriented imagery feature layer to your organization.
To import images from a 360-degree video for use in ArcGIS Indoors, complete the following prerequisites:
Review the prerequisites for capturing 360-degree video data.
Export the images from 360-degree video data to an oriented imagery dataset in ArcGIS Pro.
Share an oriented imagery feature layer to your organization.
After completing the above prerequisites, you can add the shared oriented imagery feature layer containing 360-degree photos to a map shared for Indoors Mobile.
Add an oriented imagery feature layer to a mobile map package
An oriented imagery feature layer must be added to the mobile map package to view 360-degree photos in the Indoors Mobile app. You can use ArcGIS Pro to add a shared oriented imagery feature layer to an indoor map and configure it as floor aware.
Note:
The oriented imagery feature layer must be a hosted feature layer.
Indoors Mobile supports only one oriented imagery feature layer for displaying 360-degree photos. If more than one oriented imagery feature layer is present, the app displays the top-most oriented imagery feature layer in the Contents pane.
Add an oriented imagery feature layer to a mobile map using ArcGIS Pro
An oriented imagery feature layer must be added to the indoor map and made floor aware to view 360-degree photos in the Indoors Mobile app.
To add an oriented imagery feature layer using ArcGIS Pro, complete the following steps:
Start ArcGIS Pro.
Sign in to your ArcGIS organization if necessary.
Open the project containing the indoor map.
On the View tab, in the Windows group, click Catalog Pane.
The Catalog pane appears.
In the Catalog pane, click the Portal tab and search for the shared oriented imagery feature layer containing 360-degree photos.
Right-click the oriented imagery feature layer and click Add To Current Map.
The oriented imagery feature layer is added to the map as a layer and appears in the Contents pane.
Note:
If the oriented imagery layer has multiple photo features in close proximity, you can set a visibility scale to restrict photo features from appearing until a user zooms to a suitable extent. Additionally, you can configure the symbology of the layer to use an appropriate symbol type and size to make photo features appear distinctly.
Right-click the oriented imagery feature layer in the Contents pane and click Properties.
The Layer Properties dialog box appears.
Click the Floors tab, click the Floor Field drop-down arrow, and choose Level ID.
The oriented imagery feature layer is configured as floor aware and can be used with the floor filter in the Indoors Mobile app.
On the Share tab, in the Package group, click Mobile Map to share a mobile map package.
The oriented imagery feature layer containing 360-degree photos is configured as floor aware and included in the content for the mobile map package shared for Indoors Mobile.
Add 360-degree photos to an oriented imagery feature layer
You can add more 360-degree photos to an existing oriented imagery feature layer to provide additional viewable images or update existing imagery with current photos.
To update an existing shared oriented imagery feature layer with new or more photos, complete the following steps:
Start ArcGIS Pro.
Sign in to your ArcGIS organization if necessary.
Import the updated photos to an oriented imagery dataset and configure it as floor aware.
Share the new floor-aware oriented imagery dataset as a hosted feature layer.
On the View tab, in the Windows group, click Catalog Pane.
The Catalog pane appears.
In the Catalog pane, search for the new and the original oriented imagery feature layers containing 360-degree photos.
Right-click both oriented imagery feature layers and click Add To Current Map.
The oriented imagery feature layers are added to the map as layers.
Use the Append tool to append features from the new oriented imagery feature layer to the original oriented imagery feature layer.
Optionally, delete the new oriented imagery feature layer from your organization after confirming 360-degree photos were appended to the original oriented imagery feature layer, or ensure that the original oriented imagery feature layer is the top-most layer in the layer list.
Display 360-degree photos in Indoors Mobile
After you add an oriented imagery feature layer to the indoor mobile map and configure it as floor aware, complete the following steps to test 360-degree photos in Indoors Mobile:
Open an indoor mobile map containing an oriented imagery feature layer.
Tap Show 360 Photo Locations on iOS
or Android 
.360-degree photo locations are displayed on the map.
Note:
Tap Show 360 Photo Locations on iOS
or Android to enable photo locations. This focuses map interactions to the oriented imagery feature layer. To disable photo locations and re-enable interaction with other mobile map layers, tap Show 360 Photo Locations again.Tap a 360-degree photo location on the map to display the corresponding 360-degree photo.
A window appears that displays the 360-degree photo, and the map pans to the location of the selected photo.
Tip:
The 360-degree photo display for a location can also be accessed from the info card of a selected unit feature on the map. If at least one 360-degree photo is located inside the unit, 360 View appears on the info card.
Capture photos with Indoors Mobile
Indoors Mobile supports the connection of 360-degree cameras to capture 360-degree photos. In the Indoors Mobile app, the Capture 360° option appears in the Explore panel. The option is only available if you are signed in and your user type and role include edit privileges. You must also have access to the oriented imagery feature layer included in the mobile map.
Indoors Mobile supports the following 360-degree cameras:
GoPro Max 2
Note:
You must connect the GoPro Max 2 to the GoPro Quik app before connecting it to the Indoors Mobile app.
Insta360 X4 and X5
Note:
Use the camera's Wi-Fi name and password from the camera's Wi-Fi Settings to connect to the Indoors Mobile app.
Perform the following steps to connect a 360-degree camera to Indoors Mobile and capture 360-degree photos:
Sign in to your organization as a user with a user type and role that includes edit privileges.
Open a map with an oriented imagery feature layer.
Ensure the map has editing enabled and is shared with the signed-in user.
Expand the Explore panel and tap Capture 360°.
Turn on your supported 360-degree camera.
Connect your 360-degree camera to the Indoors Mobile app.
Place your 360-degree camera in the desired location.
Tip:
Use a tripod and step out of the field of view for an unobstructed photo.
Pan and zoom on the map to the location of the camera and rotate the map to match the orientation of the 360-degree camera.
Take the photo.
A preview of the captured photo appears.
Review the 360-degree photo and save the photo, or retake it.
Once you have taken the photos you need, you can upload them directly to the oriented imagery layer.
Note:
To connect the 360-degree camera, the mobile device may temporarily disconnect from the internet. Indoors Mobile queues all captured 360-degree photos and uploads them once the internet connection resumes.
You can also choose to disconnect your mobile device from cellular connection to avoid using cellular data and ensure the 360-degree photo is uploaded using Wi-Fi.
