Use a domain account as the ArcGIS Monitor account

If your log-in settings deny log-in rights to the machine where ArcGIS Monitor is installed, you will encounter an error during the installation. It is not necessary to grant the Log on locally group policy settings to the ArcGIS Monitor account; only the steps below are required:

  1. Sign in to the machine that hosts Windows Active Directory.

  2. Click Start > Administrative Tools > Active Directory Users and Computers.

  3. Locate the Organizational Unit that contains the ArcGIS Monitor account.

  4. Right-click the ArcGIS Monitor account and click Properties.

  5. Click the Account tab and click Log on To.

  6. Type the host names of the ArcGIS Monitor Server and ArcGIS Monitor Agent machines in the text box below the The following computers option.

  7. Click Add.

  8. Click Apply.
