Generate Customer Demographic Profile Report (Business Analyst Tools)

Summary

Creates a report summarizing demographic information for polygon features, based on a distribution of points (such as customer points).

Usage

  • The Input Features parameter value must be a point feature class. This is often a customer layer.

  • The Weight Field parameter value must be of numeric type. This parameter allows you to apply differential weighting to individual customers when computing the average demographic profile and produces a weighted average of the geographic unit characteristics—for example, population, households, median age, based on the chosen field, rather than a simple average where each customer contributes equally.

  • By default, the Geography Level parameter uses the lowest level in the Business Analyst dataset.

  • When selecting additional Esri reports from the Additional Reports parameter, variables displayed as raw counts or totals in these other templates are not recommended for this tool. This can lead to incorrect or misleading representations of the data, especially for variables that are not intended to be interpreted as averages, rates, medians, or other derived statistics.

Add Infographic Header

(Optional)

Specifies whether a header will be added to your infographic report template. The header contains Title and Subtitle information.

  • Checked—A header will be added to the infographic report template.

  • Unchecked—A header will not be added to the infographic report template. This is the default.

(Optional)

Specifies whether a footer will be added to the infographic report template.

  • Checked—A footer will be added to the infographic report template.

  • Unchecked—A footer will not be added to the infographic report template. This is the default.

  • Checked—A data source will be added to the infographic report template.

  • Unchecked—The infographic report template will not contain a data source. This is the default.
