Generate Customer Segmentation Profile (Business Analyst Tools)

Summary

Creates a segmentation profile with an existing customer layer.

Usage

  • The Customer Layer parameter value must be a point feature class.

  • A customer profile is a summary of segments that have been assigned to a point.

  • Each point is assigned to a standard geography that contains households or population counts for each segment, depending on the segmentation system you are using.

  • Each geography can contain households or population belonging to one or more segments. As a result, each point can be assigned to more than one segment.

  • The segment count for each point is based on the number of segments and count for each point. If there is a single segment, the count will be one for each point. If there are multiple segments, the count for each segment will be proportionally calculated.
