000710: Unable to connect to the server.

Description

You see this error message when the application cannot establish a connection to the specified server (host name). This error may appear when publishing to a server if the server lacks a trusted SSL certificate.

Solution

Verify that ArcGIS Server is installed and running on the host machine. If the server does not have a trusted server certificate installed, using an account with admin privileges on the server, do one of the following:

• If you prefer to use a self-signed certificate, import it into the operating system’s certificate store.

• Configure ArcGIS Server with a new or existing certificate signed by a Certificate Authority (CA).
