Color-coded layers are intended solely for display and mapping purposes, and are not supported for use as input in analysis workflows.

Solution

Map the geographies of interest using the Generate Standard Geography Trade Areas tool, then enrich the layer with variables using the Enrich Layer tool. Alternatively, if you have access to a local dataset, you can use the Add Business Analyst data utility to create a Business Analyst data layer.
