Description

Revit supports linking models that reside in separate .rvt files. When the input BIM file hosts linked models, they are listed under the Linked Files parameter. It is expected that these linked files reside either at the path stored in the host file, the same folder as the host file, or in a nested folder in the same folder as the host file. This error occurs when a selected linked file cannot be found in any of those locations.

Solution

Locate the linked files listed in the error message, and verify the following for each file:

• The name of the file is the same as the file name shown in the linked files list. If not, rename the file to match.

• The file resides in one of the expected locations. If not, move the file to the location specified in the error message.

If the linked file cannot be located, unselect the file in the Linked Files parameter, and run the tool again.
