Include credits or a footer

You can include additional information about your ArcGIS StoryMaps content by adding a credits section to a story or a footer to a briefing.

Add story credits

Credits provide background information and attribution for the resources used in a story. You can include a credits section at the end of a story to acknowledge your collaborators and cite your sources. The credits section is an optional story component that is enabled for all stories you create, but it will not appear in a published story unless you add information to it.

Use the following steps to add credits to a story:

  1. In the story builder, scroll to the bottom of the story.

  2. Optionally, add a heading and description to the credits section.

  3. Add a credit entry by entering information in the content and attribution fields. Optionally, format the credit text and include links to source material.

  4. To add more credit entries, click the Add credit button.

Tip:

If you need to hide the credits section after adding information to it, you can turn it off in the design panel.

Add a briefing footer

You can use a footer to provide common information on each slide in a briefing. For example, a footer might include the date the briefing was delivered, the presenter name, the project name, your organization and team name, or a combination of these things. You can also show a logo in the footer.

Use the following steps to add a footer to a briefing:

  1. In the briefing builder header, click Design.

  2. In the Footer section, click the Show footer toggle button.

  3. In the Text box, enter the information you want to show in the slide footer.

The footer appears on all slides except the cover, section title, and media only slides. Only add as much text to the footer as will fit on the slide. The amount of text that can fit depends on the current theme's font and text size.

  4. If the briefing has a logo, you can show it in the footer by checking the Footer check box in the Logo section.

  5. Close the design panel.
