Add and configure infographics
Infographics are visualization tools that present simple data in an engaging layout. To create an infographic, you provide a number, short description, and icon; choose an infographic layout; and configure display settings.
There are four infographic layouts:
Basic—A center-aligned number and description
Stacked—A center-aligned icon, number, and description
Compact—An icon and number above a center-aligned description
Titled—A center-aligned description above an icon and number
Note:
Alignments are reversed when using a right-to-left language.
Add infographics
You can add infographics to stories, briefings, and frames.
In stories, you can add infographics to the body of a story, sidecar narrative panels, and sidecar media panels. In the body of a story, you can add up to three infographics side-by-side. Infographics placed in a row must use the same layout.
In briefings, you can add infographics to briefing slide panels on all slide types except the cover.
In frames, you can add infographics to frame slide panels on any slide except the cover. Only stacked and basic layouts are available.
Enter infographic data
Use the following tips to create effective infographics:
If you want to display a large number, use an abbreviation. For example, instead of 27,000,000 use 27M.
You can use a short word instead of a number.
For best results, keep the description short.
Use the basic layout when an icon isn't needed.
Infographic settings
The following settings are available for infographics:
Layout—You can change the layout after creating an infographic.
Colors—Choose colors for each aspect of the infographic using the color picker: number, description, icon, and background.
Tip:
Try choosing a different background color to provide contrast for an infographic.
Infographic options
You can use the Data source option to enter text to credit the data source for the infographic. The data source is available to readers by hovering over the information icon shown in the top corner of the infographic.
Best practices
Keep the following in mind when making infographics:
Choose an icon that relates to the theme of the data value represented.
A description should be concise, ideally no longer than two lines.
Consider including a data source in Infographic options.
