Preview

Authoring in one of the ArcGIS StoryMaps builders provides an idea of what your content will look like when it is published. However, for an even more accurate view of what the readers will see, including when viewing your content on a phone or tablet, you can preview your content at any point in the authoring process.

The multiple-device preview mode includes options to see how the content will be displayed on different screen sizes and orientations across phones, tablets, and desktop browsers.

Tip:

Always preview your content before publishing so you know how it will look and behave for your audience when they view it on various devices.

Use the following steps to preview an ArcGIS StoryMaps content item:

1. Click Preview in the builder header.

   The full screen preview displays.

2. Use the additional preview options on the floating toolbar:

   • Click the Preview on desktop button on the toolbar to preview at a desktop screen size.

   • Click the Preview on tablet button on the toolbar to preview at a tablet screen size.

   • Click the Preview on phone button on the toolbar to preview at a phone screen size.

     In the tablet and phone previews, you can switch the preview device frame between vertical portrait and horizontal landscape orientations by clicking the Rotate button under the preview display.

3. Click Close preview to return to the builder.
