Note:

This topic applies to stories and briefings.

Stories and briefings can be printed on paper or saved as a PDF file. Printing generates an external record of content that can be used to collect comments from colleagues, to track history, or for archival purposes. Printed outputs can also be prepared for use in situations when the ArcGIS StoryMaps website may not be available due to limited or unreliable internet access. Published or draft items can be printed from the builder.

Use the following steps to print a published ArcGIS StoryMaps item or save it as a PDF file.

  1. View or edit the item you want to print.

  2. In the header, click the More actions button .

  3. Select Print preview.

The content is shown in the print preview.

  4. Scroll down and confirm all content, such as maps and embeds, has loaded.

    Important:

You must ensure content blocks are loaded and visible in the print preview before moving on to the next step.

At this time, only 16 maps or apps can be printed at once. If there are more, print in batches using page ranges.

  5. Click the Print button to open the browser's print window.

  6. Select a print destination.

    • To print on paper, select a printer option.

    • To save the output as a PDF file, select a print to PDF option.

    Important:

To ensure all content appears in the printed output, you may need to enable background graphics in the browser's print settings.

The content is printed or saved.
