Create jobs

Available with an ArcGIS Topographic Mapping license.

You can use the Topographic Production Manager (TPM) web app to create topographic production workflow jobs.

Important:

You can only create jobs for active projects. If the options below are not available, check that the project has an active status in the Design tab.

Complete the following steps to create jobs:

  1. In the TPM app, click the Manage tab.

  2. Click the Create Jobs tab .

    The Create Production Tasks pane appears.

  3. Click the Projects drop-down arrow and specify an existing project to associate the task job with.

  4. Click the Phases drop-down arrow and specify an existing phase to associate the task job with.

  5. Click the Task Group drop-down arrow and specify an existing task group to associate the task job with.

  6. Click the Product Version drop-down arrow and specify an existing product version to associate the task job with.

  7. Provide the start date for the job in the Start Date text box.

    Tip:

    Click on the calendar icon in the text box to choose a date from a calendar.

  8. In the Priority text box, assign a numerical value associated with the priority level of the task job.

    Acceptable values range from 1 to 5, 1 being the highest priority, and 5 being the lowest priority.

  9. Use one of following selection tools to select AOIs that a job should be created for:

    Tool Details
    Select features by point Select features by point Select AOIs by placing a point. Double-click to finish and select AOIs that have a point.
    Select features by rectangle Select features by rectangle Select AOIs by drawing a rectangle. AOIs that intersect the rectangle are highlighted.
    Clear AOI selection Clear AOI selection Clear the AOI selection.
    Move to full extent of AOI layer Move to full extent of AOI layer Zoom to the full extent of the AOI layer.
    Pan Pan around the map view.
    Move to previous extent Move to previous extent Zoom to the previous extent.
    Move to next extent Move to next extent If you clicked Move to previous extent , this tool becomes available and allows you to move to the next extent.
  10. Click CREATE.

A job with the properties specified is created. You can find the job and monitor its status when you search for jobs to review.
