Data in ArcGIS AllSource

GIS data represents real-world objects and events and the things known about them. ArcGIS AllSource is designed to handle many types of data for many purposes. You can work with feature- and raster-based spatial data in geodatabases and other formats, tabular data in spreadsheets or other files, web layers and services hosted in portals or servers, and data you collect and create.

This section contains a variety of information about how you can use data in ArcGIS AllSource, including the following:

• The data types and formats that ArcGIS supports.

• The structures in which data is stored and managed, such as databases and geodatabases.

• The editing operations that maintain data accuracy and integrity.

• The areas of practice that require specialized data preparation and management. These include working with National Imagery Transmission Format (NITF) and unstructured text.
