What's new

Explore the latest new features and functionality for the ArcGIS for Autodesk Forma extension. Release highlights are provided below.

For more information on previous releases, see the ArcGIS for Autodesk Forma Esri Community.

1.1.1 release of ArcGIS for Autodesk Forma

The September 2026 update includes improvements to the ArcGIS Enterprise sign in workflow, ArcGIS Living Atlas content retrieval, and rendering performance of large feature count datasets.

The following has been introduced in this release:

  • The ArcGIS Enterprise sign in experience has been updated to provide better support for identity provider (IdP) authentication methods, including:

    • Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA)

    • Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)

    • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

    Tip:

The authentication methods above do not require a Client ID to access ArcGIS for Autodesk Forma.

The ArcGIS Enterprise server URL and Client ID (for Built-in and SAML authentication in ArcGIS Enterprise 12.0 or below only) entered during the sign in workflow are prepopulated for future sign in attempts to simplify access.

For more details, see Sign in to your ArcGIS account.

  • The Living Atlas content collection in the Add layers tab now retrieves items and categories more reliably when connected to ArcGIS Enterprise. This update enhances access to trusted, pre-curated content and supports category-based filtering using ArcGIS content category sets.

  • Rendering performance has improved when adding layers containing large feature counts through the introduction of batch querying. Large datasets may take longer to load in Forma Site Design.

    Note:

Importing layers with more than 2,000 features as native Forma Site Design elements (Roads, Buildings, or Property Boundaries) may result in a 413 Content Too Large error.

To workaround this, use the Import as Generic option.
