Operating systems supported when using ArcGIS Enterprise tools for AWS

When you use an ArcGIS Enterprise tools for Amazon Web Services (AWS), you can specify a base Amazon Machine Image (AMI) ID to use for the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances included in your deployment. The AMI ID you specify must use a supported operating system version. These versions are listed in the following sections.

Linux

The following Linux operating systems are supported for all ArcGIS Enterprise 12.1 components you deploy using an ArcGIS Enterprise tool for AWS, except for ArcGIS Notebook Server.

Note:

Always confirm that Docker is configured on the machine before you configure ArcGIS Notebook Server. See the ArcGIS Notebook Server Linux installation guide for instructions.

Microsoft Windows

The following Windows operating system versions are supported when you create a 12.1 or ArcGIS Pro 3.7 deployment using an ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS tool:

For ArcGIS Enterprise, Windows 11 is supported for basic testing and application development use only. It is not recommended for deployment in a production environment. If you deploy ArcGIS Pro on its own EC2 instance, Windows 11 is supported for production environments.

ArcGIS Notebook Server is not supported on Windows operating systems when you deploy the site using an Esri CloudFormation template or Cloud Builder.
