What's new in ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder 12.1 for Microsoft Azure

At each release, new versions of ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder for Microsoft Azure and the Esri images on Microsoft Azure Marketplace are available.

New functionality

The following functionality and options are new in this release of Cloud Builder for Microsoft Azure:

  • You can create a federated ArcGIS Video Server site.

  • You can create a federated ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server site.

  • Operating system disk options are now premium solid state drive (SSD) or standard SSD; hard disk drives are no longer supported when creating a deployment or migrating disks.

  • The Web Application Firewall (WAF) V2 is supported for the Application Gateway service SKU.

Changes in requirements

Changes that affect Cloud Builder at this release are as follows:

  • Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 10 is required on the machine where you install ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder 12.1.

  • Over the last several releases, support for multiple components and item types has changed. Depending on what version you are upgrading from, you may need to remove components or perform an intermediate upgrade before you upgrade an ArcGIS deployment to 12.1. In other cases, changes to components may require you to perform additional tasks after you upgrade. See Upgrade ArcGIS deployments on Microsoft Azure for specific information and instructions.
