Display language (requires ArcGIS language pack installation)
You can run a translated version of ArcGIS Pro if you install a language pack. You can get a language pack from your distributor or My Esri. When a language pack is installed, you can set ArcGIS Pro to display the user interface in the corresponding language.
By default, the ArcGIS Pro user interface matches the Microsoft Windows display language. For example, if your Windows display language is German, and you have also installed a German language pack for ArcGIS Pro, the application displays the user interface in German.
To run ArcGIS Pro in a display language other than the Windows display language, follow these steps:
Under Display language (requires ArcGIS language pack installation), uncheck the Match Microsoft Windows check box.
Use the drop-down menu to choose a language from the list of installed languages.
Restart ArcGIS Pro.
This option only changes the display language of the ArcGIS Pro user interface. It does not affect functionality related to number and date formatting or character encoding, which are controlled by your Windows region settings. In addition, this setting is for ArcGIS Pro only and does not affect other ArcGIS Desktop applications on the same machine.
To return ArcGIS Pro to the Windows display language, check the Match Microsoft Windows check box.
Proofing language
The list of available languages corresponds to the list of language packs for Windows installed on your computer. Use the language settings in Windows to add languages and download operating system language packs. After a new language pack is installed, the language will be available as a proofing language in ArcGIS Pro.
Note:
Ensure that the Basic typing feature is installed with the operating system language pack. This feature provides the spell checkers and dictionaries used for proofing. To confirm that this feature is installed, check the language pack's Language Options. For more information, see Language packs for Windows.
As with the display language, the proofing language matches Windows by default. To change it, under Proofing language (requires operating system language pack installation), uncheck the Match Microsoft Windows check box and choose from the available languages. It is not necessary to restart ArcGIS Pro.
Help system language
The ArcGIS Pro help language for the offline and online help matches the display language by default but can be changed. Language packs are not needed to change this setting. To select a different language, under Help system language, uncheck the Match display language check box and choose from the available languages. You must restart ArcGIS Pro to open the help in the selected language.
For the offline help, you can install ArcGIS Documentation Center and download a non-English documentation set for ArcGIS Pro (and optionally for other products).
Learn more about ArcGIS Documentation Center
If you select a language for which you have not downloaded the corresponding documentation set, the offline help system is not available. In this situation, you must download the appropriate documentation set, change the language to one for which you have downloaded the documentation, or switch to the online help system.
Tip:
When you're using the online help system, you can also change the language with the Switch Language button
at the top or bottom of your browser.
