An overview of the Portal toolset

The Portal toolset contains tools that perform geocoding tasks with items on the portal.

Tools in the Portal toolset

Tool	Description
Batch Geocode	Geocodes a large table or .csv file of addresses or places asynchronously using the batchGeocode REST API. The geocoded results are returned as a feature class and do not require ArcGIS Pro to chunk the request into smaller batches.
Geocode File	Converts large local tables of addresses or places into points in a feature class or as a CSV or XLS table. This tool uses locators hosted on an ArcGIS Enterprise portal.
Geocode Locations From Table	Geocodes hosted tables using locators hosted on an ArcGIS Enterprise portal, which creates a hosted feature layer containing the geocoded results.
