Description

When using the Summarize Within tool and calculating the shape summarys such as the length of lines or area of a polygon, the correct geometry value is required.

Solution

When summarizing a polygon, one of the following area units must be specified:

• Acres

• Hectares

• Square meters

• Square kilometers

• Square feet

• Square yards

• Square miles

When summarizing a polyline, one of the following linear units must be specified:

• Meters

• Kilometers

• Feet

• Yards

• Miles

• Nautical miles

Using a linear unit for summarizing polygons, an areal unit for summarize polylines, or any unit not mentioned above will generate this error.
