Work with the slice tool

You can make vertical or horizontal slices using the slice tool and hovering over a building.

Access the slice tool

The slice tool is available as an interactive analysis in the overview, plans, and projects.

Note:

The results are not persisted.

Slice tool in the overview

To activate the slice tool in the overview, complete the following steps:

1. Click the Analysis button in the lower corner of the view to expand the analysis toolbar.

2. Select the Slice objects tool .

   The slice tool opens with a toolbar at the top of the map.

3. Follow the steps in the Slice objects section below.

Slice tool in projects

To access the slice tool in a project, complete the following steps:

1. Click the Development button on the toolbar at the side of the view.

   The development mode toolbar appears.

2. Select the Slice objects tool from the Measure and slice drop-down menu.

   The slice tool opens.

3. Follow the steps in the Slice objects section below.

Slice tool in plans

To activate the slice tool in a plan, complete the following steps:

1. Expand the Measure and slice button toolbar in the lower corner of the view.

2. Select the Slice objects tool .

   The slice tool opens with a toolbar at the top of the map.

3. Follow the steps in the Slice objects section below.

Slice objects

To slice objects on the map, complete the following steps:

1. Open the slice tool.

   See the Access the slice tool section above to learn how to open the measure tools in the overview, in plans, and projects.

2. Click the map to place the slice plane.

3. Use the orange handles on the slice plane to update the size, rotation, height, or tilt.

   The slice plane updates interactively.

4. Start a new slice plane:

   • In the overview and in plans: Click the Clear slice button.

   • In projects: Click the New measurement button.

   The previous slice plane disappears from the map. Go back to step 2 to start a new slice plane.
