Configure ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server with ArcGIS Enterprise
After installing ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server, creating a server site, and registering ArcGIS Web Adaptor, you can configure the site with ArcGIS Enterprise. You must federate the server site and designate it as the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server role.
Federate the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server site with ArcGIS Enterprise
You must federate the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server site so that ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server can authenticate ArcGIS Enterprise users and allow them to access the ArcGIS Data Pipelines app. ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server is not supported as a stand-alone server site.
Note:
ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server cannot function as the hosting server or as any other server role; you must have already federated an ArcGIS Server and designated it as the hosting server. When you federate an ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server site, ensure that ArcGIS Enterprise is version 12.0 or later.
Federating an ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server site with ArcGIS Enterprise integrates the security and sharing models of your portal with those of the server site. When you federate, the portal's identity store controls access to the server, which is determined by portal members, roles, and permissions.
To federate an ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server site with ArcGIS Enterprise, complete the following steps:
If you're federating an ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server that uses a wildcard security certificate, import the root certificate into your portal before federating.
If the portal only has a domain certificate for the federated server, it cannot validate the certificate CNAME, publish services, or perform some other operations.
Sign in to ArcGIS Enterprise as an administrator.
Click Organization in the top navigation ribbon, and then click Settings > Servers.
You must connect to ArcGIS Enterprise through the ArcGIS Web Adaptor or similar; do not use the portal internal port 7443. For example, use
https://webadaptorhost.domain.com/webadaptorname/home.Click Add Server Site.
Provide the following information:
Services URL—The URL used by external users when accessing the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server site. For example,
https://webadaptorhost.domain.com/datapipelinesserverwebadaptorname. The federation operation performs a validation check to determine if the provided services URL is accessible from the portal machine. If the validation check fails, a warning is generated in the Portal for ArcGIS logs.Administration URL—The top context or the root of the URL used for accessing the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server admin API to perform administrative operations. For example,
https://webadaptorhost.domain.com/datapipelinesserverwebadaptornamefor ArcGIS Web Adaptor administrator access, orhttps://datapipelinesserver.domain.com:14443/arcgisfor port administrator access.Username—The name of the primary site administrator account provided when creating the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server site.
Password—The password of the primary site administrator account.
Click Add.
Designate the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server role
Once your ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server site has been federated, designate it as the Data Pipelines Server for ArcGIS Enterprise.
Sign in to ArcGIS Enterprise as an administrator.
Click Organization in the top navigation ribbon, and then click Settings > Servers.
Locate your ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server site. Click the options button in the upper right, click Configure Server Role.
Enable Data Pipelines Server (Beta) and click Save.
Once the ArcGIS Data Pipelines Server is configured with ArcGIS Enterprise, the last step in the installation process is to Install the ArcGIS Data Pipelines app.
