Import an ArcMap document with surround elements
Available with an ArcGIS Topographic Mapping license.
Supported surround elements from ArcMap documents can be imported to ArcGIS Pro. ArcMap surround elements are replaced by ArcGIS Pro elements on import.
The following ArcMap surround elements can be imported in ArcGIS Pro 2.4 or later:
Topographic north arrows for ArcGIS Topographic Mapping
Variations of the Meter Reference Guide
Variations of the Meter Reference Guide including the U.S. National Grid Reference Box
The Elevation Guide Bar and the TM Slope Guide
The following ArcMap elements are not supported for import starting at ArcGIS Pro 2.4.
Topographic Line Map (TLM) Conversion Graph
Joint Operations Graphic (JOG) Elevation Tints

To import an ArcMap document that contains surround elements complete the following steps :
Open the ArcMap document that you want to import:
Delete unsupported ArcMap surround elements that are not used in the document.
Right-click unsupported elements in the layout and click Convert To Graphics to convert them to graphics.
Import an ArcMap document.
The ArcMap elements are replaced by ArcGIS Pro elements on import.
Note:
Unsupported surround elements in an MXD are not imported to ArcGIS Pro.
