Browse and search documentation
ArcGIS Documentation Center provides a local web server that serves documentation sets to your web browser. You can browse and search documentation like you would with online documentation
Browse documentation
The first step to browsing offline documentation is to open the documentation set for the product and version you want to view. You can do that from the Home tab or from the the corresponding ArcGIS software product's user interface, such as ArcGIS Pro's help links in many of its dialog boxes.
Once you have a documentation set open in your web browser, you can browse it like you would online help.
Links from one page to another in the same doc set work the same as they do in online help. However, links from one doc set to another doc set generally will open in the web help, even if you have the linked doc set downloaded. The exception to this is ArcGIS AllSource, which is tightly integrated with ArcGIS Pro documentation.
Browsing ArcGIS AllSource documentation
Whereas most cross-product links in doc sets open the web help, links from ArcGIS AllSource to ArcGIS Pro documentation open the downloaded ArcGIS Pro doc set. AllSource shares a lot of the same functionality as ArcGIS Pro, so its documentation refers to ArcGIS Pro documentation for many topics.
For these links to work, you need to have the companion ArcGIS AllSource and ArcGIS Pro doc sets downloaded. For example, if you have the English ArcGIS AllSource 1.6 downloaded, you need to have the English ArcGIS Pro 3.7 doc set as well. ArcGIS AllSource 3.7 and ArcGIS Pro 3.7 were released together.
Search documentation
The search box is available at the top of documentation pages. You can use it to search the documentation set that is currently open in your web browser.
Loading search index appears in the search box while the search index is being loaded. Once the search index is loaded, you can enter a search term and press Enter to perform the search. Loading the search index for larger documentation sets may take more time.
