Administrating your organization
Administering an ArcGIS Enterprise organization involves a variety of tasks to ensure the organization provides users with the capabilities they need. Effective administration requires a collaboration between GIS and IT administrators to perform all of the following:
Configure the organization to control how users interact with content items, services, and the organization itself.
Secure the organization by managing user access and configuring security settings.
Observe the organization to maintain awareness of how it is operating and gather information help to resolve any issues.
Manage the ArcGIS Server sites that are federated with ArcGIS Enterprise, the services published to those sites, and the associated service data.
Manage content items and collaborations with other organizations to ensure users can discover and access the right content.
Create a backup and restore strategy to ensure the organization can be recovered in the event of a disaster.
Automating workflows through a combination of using command line utilities, making requests to the REST API, writing Python scripts, creating event-driven webhooks, and extending services.
