Update Fleet Routing Results (Network Analyst Tools)

Summary

Updates the results of a waste collection analysis to incorporate manual edits that reflect local knowledge and specific needs. The tool updates the metrics, directions, and reports when the route assignments are manually updated.

Usage

  • This tool can only be used with waste collection network analysis layers. The other solver types are not supported.

  • Running this tool is similar to running the Solve tool, but it saves time by only adjusting the sequencing of the stops using their current route assignments instead of performing a complete solve that includes assigning stops to routes.

  • Unlike the Solve tool, this tool can violate the route constraints for the maximum total time and distance. The capacity constraints can only be violated if renewals are not a part of the model; otherwise, more renewal visits will be inserted to satisfy the capacity constraints. A warning message will be returned for any violated constraints.

  • The route assignments of stops can be manually updated by changing the RouteName field in the Stops sublayer.

  • This tool is similar to the Update Fleet Routing Assignments tool. However, that tool helps you reassign stops to specific routes before recalculating the results, whereas this tool only updates the results, relying on your manual edits. This tool allows for more flexibility in workflows.
