Create a briefing
You can use ArcGIS StoryMaps to build briefings. Briefings offer a slide-based output ideal for delivering presentations that integrate maps and data from your organization.
Use the following steps to build your first briefing:
Sign in to ArcGIS StoryMaps.
Click Create, and click Briefing to create a briefing and launch the briefing builder.
The briefing builder is where you assemble briefings from a selection of content blocks. You can click Add media to see the list of available content blocks.
Add details to the cover slide.
Title the briefing. Optionally, add a subtitle and edit the author name, if needed.
The author name and publish date are added automatically.
Add an image or video.
Click the Add button + to add a new slide to the briefing. Click Add media on any of the panels to add content, or click and start typing to add text.
Web maps and web scenes can be added from ArcGIS, and you can author express maps.
Note:
You can drag slides to rearrange their order in the briefing. ArcGIS StoryMaps automatically saves your progress as you build a briefing.
In the header, click Design to open the design panel.
The cover, navigation, and theme options in the design panel allow you to change the appearance of the briefing. For more information, see Set a theme.
Preview the briefing.
In the header, click Preview to open preview mode so you can view the briefing as the audience will see it.
Return to the builder by closing preview mode using the toolbar in the bottom corner of the screen.
Publish the briefing.
In the header, click Publish to open the publish page.
On the publish page, select the audience.
Click the Publish button to run the publishing process.
Note:
The publishing process checks to ensure all maps and layers will be accessible to the audience. If issues are detected, you are prompted to address them before continuing. For more information, see Publish.
Your briefing is now published and ready to be shared.
