Processing on Linux

Linux processing in the cloud enables scalable, on‑demand production without the need to manage local hardware. By leveraging cloud infrastructure, you can increase throughput, overcome hardware limitations, and collaborate securely across distributed teams.

The ArcGIS Reality Studio Node command‑line interface (CLI) allows Linux instances to connect to workspaces and contribute to distributed processing. Follow these instructions to get started:

  1. Set up a Reality Studio project for processing on the cloud.

Save all input data in cloud object storage (e.g. Azure Blob, AWS S3) and create the corresponding .acs files. Using a Windows OS workstation, set up your Reality Studio project with your data and workspace on the cloud.

  2. Set up Reality Studio on Linux instances.

Ensure Linux instances meet the system requirements for processing. Then, install and authorize Reality Studio and all supplementary packages on the Linux instances.

    These include:

  3. Contribute to a workspace with Linux instances.

Run the ArcGIS Reality Studio Node tool to contribute to the workspace containing the distributed processing jobs.
