Setup overview
At a high level, setting up ArcGIS Documentation Center includes five steps:
Ensure each machine meets the system requirements for ArcGIS Documentation Center.
Download ArcGIS Documentation Center from My Esri.
You need to sign in with an Esri account that has access to the downloads. Then click the Downloads tab and find ArcGIS Documentation Center.
A single installer is provided for all languages, so you do not need to download a specific language pack.
Install the application.
Individual users can install the application using the installer, which has a user interface.
IT administrators can deploy the application for multiple users using a silent installation method with the command line.
Configure the application settings.
Individual users open the application and choose settings in a configuration wizard.
IT administrators can configure settings for multiple users by creating and deploying an
appSettings.jsonfile.
Download the documentation sets you need.
Individual users can download doc sets locally.
IT administrators can allow users to download doc sets locally or can download doc sets to a shared network location for users to access.
These steps are described in more detail in the topics that follow.
