10072: Symbol layer drawing performance may be downgraded
A layer in your map is using symbol layer drawing to override the default drawing order of symbols. Due to the layer's properties, symbology, or symbol structure, the performance of this layer is impacted. An increase in drawing time is expected.
Additional context for the cause of the performance degradation is provided in the message.
Solutions
Do one of the following:
Do nothing. Accept the performance as-is.
Do not use any known visualization strategies to symbolize the feature layer that slow down performance.
Turn off symbol layer drawing for the impacted layer. Open the Symbology pane, and on the Symbol layer drawing tab, turn off Enable symbol layer drawing.
Remove the layer from the map or scene. In the Contents pane, right-click the layer, and choose Remove.
Additional information
Under certain conditions, using symbol layer drawing to achieve certain graphic effects may require additional processing. This takes additional time, which impacts drawing performance.
A feature layer that uses any of the following visualization strategies requires additional time to process symbol layer drawing:
Layer transparency (sublayers in group layers only)
Excluding the layer from clipping (sublayers in group layers only)
Marker symbol layers with non-solid patterns or transparent colors
Character marker symbol layers
SVG-based marker symbol layers that use clipping or clip paths
