Verify Circuits (Utility Network Tools)

Summary

Checks the validity of circuits in a telecom domain network after features associated with a circuit are modified. The operation confirms that a circuit can be traced from a circuit's start location to its stop location and ensures that the circuit, circuit sections, and subcircuits are properly configured.

When a dirty circuit is verified, a trace is performed to ensure that the physical circuit can be traversed between its start and stop locations and that only a single path exists. Virtual sections are verified to ensure that the start and stop locations are valid.. The verify operation also checks to ensure that the Share Circuit Locations property configured for the telecom domain network using the Set Circuit Properties tool is honored and that the circuit is properly configured. When successful, the Status field value is updated to Clean, and the Last verified attribute field is updated with a timestamp on the Circuit table.

Note:

Consumed circuits must be verified before the provider circuit can be verified. If any subcircuit consumed by the circuit being verified is dirty, the circuit cannot be verified, and the operation will fail.

Usage

  • The Input Utility Network parameter value must be version 8 or later and contain a telecom domain network.

  • The network topology must be enabled.

  • The following requirements must be met when working with an enterprise geodatabase:

    • The active ArcGIS Enterprise portal account must be the portal utility network owner on the default version when the access permission for the version is set to Protected.

    • The Input Utility Network parameter value must be from a utility network service.

    • License:

The active portal account must be assigned a license with the ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension to use this tool in an enterprise deployment.

Parameters

Label Explanation Data type

Input Utility Network

The utility network that contains the circuits that will be verified.

Utility Network; Utility Network Layer

Domain Network

The telecom domain network that contains the circuits that will be verified.

String

Circuits

The name of the circuit or circuits that will be verified. Use a comma-delimited list of circuit names for multiple circuits.

String

Run in asynchronous mode on the server

(Optional)

Specifies whether verify operations will process asynchronously when working with a utility network in an enterprise geodatabase.

  • CheckedVerify operations will process asynchronously.

  • UncheckedVerify operations will process synchronously. This is the default.

Boolean

Force verify

(Optional)

Specifies whether the operation will stop if a clean or invalid circuit is provided in the list when verifying multiple circuits.

  • CheckedThe operation will ignore the status of the circuit and run against clean or invalid circuits. This can be useful to verify circuits in scenarios where circuits were imported as clean.

  • UncheckedThe operation will honor the status of the circuit and will not attempt to verify clean or invalid circuits. This is the default.
